Mom of the Year...

Before I put Shane down for bed the other night, I wanted to start a load of his laundry.  So...to kill 2 birds with 1 stone I stuck him in the rolling hamper and rolled him right out to the kitchen!  He was nice and secure so don't worry!  In fact, he enjoyed the ride!

A Visit with Friends

My dear friend Jen's daughter Lauren got to visit with Beans for a few minutes before she had to leave for work.  She will hopefully be a babysitter in the near future :)

This is Jen's little...and I mean LITTLE Yorkie "Nash".  Shane was quite taken with this little furball that was smaller than him!!

Somehow I didn't get any pictures of Shane with Jen!!  But we had a nice visit, even if it had to be cut a bit short because "Crankenstein" decided to make an appearance.  Probably my fault, tho since he was off his nap schedule today.  Oh well...that's life with a 5 month old and I LOVE it :)

Sunny Day!!

Since it was such a BEAUTIFUL day today, I'm posting more than one picture.  I just stepped out front and captured a few shots of the warm sunshine.  I will look back on these with fondness as the temp plummets over the next few days--and brings rain and wind.  Yuck.  Come back soon, Mr. Sun!!

I know I said not every picture in this photo blog would be of Shane...but it seems he is the subject of choice these days!  When the weather breaks I'm hoping to get out and take some more pictures!  But for now, since Shane is just so stinkin cute, I can't help but snap some of the funny things he does...like sucking his toes!  He's been playing with his feet for a while now but after tubby time, he literally was SUCKING his big toe like he does his thumb! It seems he prefers his left thumb, but his right toe!  At least it was clean...

Sleepin Beans

I know...I've been slacking in my "daily" blog.  So maybe it's going to be a weekly blog?!  I'll do my best to keep up with it.
This is how our little guy sleeps.  Please note that he did start out flat and with socks on!  But after much rolling and squealing, this is how he always ends up to sleep! I love how his little butt is in the air and he's got himself all curled up.  I wonder if this is how he was in the womb?  By the way, isn't that the cutest little back of the head ya ever seen? :)

Hangin Out in the Swing

We almost put the swing away recently, but I'm glad we didn't...Shane FINALLY seems to be enjoying it!  When he was little, he wasn't really into it...but today I reintroduced it to him and he really seemed to enjoy it...thankfully!!  Always nice to have another option to keep our little busybody occupied :)

An Exciting Weekend Night

After we put Shane to bed we got all crazy and busted out the Yahtzee.  This was my winning roll!  And just for the record, Chris did roll a Yahtzee in the next round.  But I still won overall ;)

A Rare Occasion

Poor kid...not only was he fussing, but then his mean ole mom took his picture!!  This is typically how he looks right before bed--he gets SOOOO tired!  Even cranky he's cute :)

More Time with Daddy

Our little guy loves spending time with Daddy when he comes home from work...and he loves to try to rip his eyes and hair out!  Hahaha.  He also tries to yank my hair out on a daily basis.  Let's just say I wear lots of ponytails these days! 

Testing Out the Bjorn

It's a bit out-of-focus, but here we all are!  We haven't used our Baby Bjorn (which we got used for FREE thanks to my former co-worker Karen Stauffer!) much since Shane was little but the need has very much presented itself now--especially for doing basic errands like grocery shopping.  So Daddy (and then Mommy) gave it a test run around the house and Shane LOVED it!  In fact he is still strapped to my chest as I enter this post!  He is busy watching my fingers scamper across the keyboard!    Looks like the Bjorn may be the answer we've been looking for...at least for now! :)

2 for the Price of 1

Baseball Hat

It's our little Beaner's first time wearing a baseball hat--his head finally fits it!  He didn't even seem to notice it was there.  What a cutie!! :)

New Skillet :)

Yeah, it's the little things...we got a 2 pack of Kitchenaid non-stick skillets on sale at JCPenney and I'm loving them!!  This one was cooking up some spaghetti sauce and meatballs!  Yum :)

p.s. I am aware I missed yesterday...I guess it's bound to happen...but I'll do my best to keep up!

My step-mom Melissa recently traveled to Ethiopia and brought us back these fun things from the market--a Zebra for Shane, T-shirt for Chris, and a cute little hand-painted wooden bird for me :)
